On Tuesday, 14 July 2026, the Malaysian Association for Training Providers (MATPRO) participated in an engagement session with HRD Corp to discuss key issues and developments affecting Malaysia’s training provider community.

The session was led by En. Hafez Kamaruddin, Head of Department, Program Division, HRD Corp, and attended by representatives from HRD Corp, MATPRO, the Malaysian Bumiputera Trainers Association (MBTA), and the Malaysian Professional Trainers Association (MAPTac).

The engagement served as a constructive platform for industry stakeholders to share feedback, raise operational concerns, and exchange ideas on strengthening the training ecosystem. Discussions covered a range of topics, including training provider licence renewal processes, grant applications, trainer verification, programme registration, certification approvals, communication channels, and customer service improvements.

During the session, MATPRO conveyed feedback and practical challenges faced by training providers, while HRD Corp provided updates on recent policy changes, the rationale behind process enhancements, and ongoing initiatives to improve governance, compliance, and service delivery. Both parties also explored opportunities to enhance communication and collaboration to better support the industry’s evolving needs.
